Retroactive jealousy…what’s that? Sparrow explains how many narcissists struggle with this particular type of jealousy. It’s difficult and exhausting to deal with a narcissist who is inherently jealous of you and your past and we mustn’t let them shame us for it. Narcissists cannot accept your past because to them you are NOT human. Did you catch that? You aren’t REAL. You are a projection from their imagination- a character in their drama. You are NOT a real person with thoughts, feelings, hopes, or dreams. You cannot have a back story that doesn’t involve them. God forbid you have preferences (insert eye roll here).
